Village Sake SMS Terms of Service

These SMS Terms of Service ("SMS Terms") govern your use of text message notifications from Village Sake LLC ("Village Sake," "we," "us," or "our"). By joining our waitlist and providing your mobile number, you agree to these SMS Terms.

1. The Service

Village Sake operates a waitlist service that sends SMS notifications to guests about their wait. When you join the waitlist (in person at our restaurant or remotely through our website), we use the mobile number you provide to send you transactional text messages, including:

• A confirmation that you have joined the waitlist.
• Position updates as you move forward in line.
• A "table ready" notification when seating is available.
• Occasional follow-up messages about your specific visit (for example, confirming whether you are still on the way).

2. Consent

You consent to receive SMS messages from Village Sake at the mobile number you provide when you check the consent box (or its equivalent) on our join form. Consent is not a condition of dining at Village Sake — if you prefer not to receive texts, you can ask a host to keep you on the waitlist without text notifications.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your wait time and visit. Most guests receive between 1 and 5 messages per visit.

4. Costs

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Village Sake does not charge you for receiving SMS notifications, but your carrier may.

5. Opting Out (STOP)

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you reply STOP, we will send one final confirmation message and then stop sending you SMS notifications. If you opt out, we will not be able to text you about your waitlist status, but you can still join the waitlist and ask the host to notify you in person.

To resume SMS messages after opting out, reply START or join the waitlist again.

6. Help (HELP)

If you need help with our SMS service, reply HELP to any message, email admin@villagesake.com, or call (415) 521-5790.

7. Supported Carriers

SMS notifications are supported on most major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and US Cellular, as well as their associated networks and MVNOs. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. No Guarantee of Delivery

We use commercially reasonable efforts to deliver SMS messages promptly, but message delivery depends on factors outside our control (carrier availability, your device, signal strength, and so on). We do not guarantee that messages will arrive on time or at all. If you do not receive an expected message, please check with our host directly.

9. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian, to provide a mobile number for our SMS service.

10. Privacy

Your phone number and other information are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at villagesake.com/privacy. We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Village Sake is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from or related to the SMS service, including missed messages, delayed messages, or service interruptions.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated Effective Date. Continued use of our waitlist after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These SMS Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
